The EADV Congress in Paris was
an important social event as much as
a scientific one. It’s one of the most
important scientific gatherings of the year,
and one I would not miss.
Having the honour of receiving a
scholarship this year has not only boosted
my confidence as a researcher, but it
has also shown me that hard work and
persistence really do pay off. Honestly, this
award came to me as a bit of a surprise
as I know how hard the competition is
in dermatology research in Romania. The
field of dermatological research in my
home country is booming and only the
opportunity of being part of it is inspiring
enough to keep pushing forward. Judging
by the rate of Romanian dermatologists
getting involved in research in the last few
years I am confident that one of the next
big discoveries will come from a Romanian
research group. For me, this scholarship
represents a stepping stone in my career, a
reconfirmation of all my efforts so far, and
an encouragement to continue searching
for answers to questions past or present in
the field of dermatology.
If I had to choose a favourite memory
I would have to say the Scholarship
Award Ceremony. It wasn’t like any other
ceremony I had attended before and you
need to be there to really experience it
because words can hardly describe it.
